ListMania

Ever tried making a quick grocery shopping list on you iPhone, iPod touch or iPad? Perhaps you tried using the Apple’s Notes app, which was simple enough, but then you quickly saw how limited it was if you wanted to reorder your items, check some off, adjust your list for the next time. Making lists can be much easier, more flexible, and intuitive too.

With ListMania, creating a new list is easy: just tap the “+” button and type your entries away. They are all stored not just in your current list, but also in your history, so you can reuse your entries later with less typing. Want to customize your list with a different colour or name? Just tap the name of the list at the top of the screen and you will be able to enter a new name and pick a different colour for it.

What’s really great though, is that ListMania is more than just a shopping list manager, you can store a list of anything you want in it. Upcoming movies you’d like to see, new music artists a friend recommended you to check out, a quick to do list, or perhaps gift ideas for a special someone? Why not! With ListMania you can create as many lists as you want, rename, recolour and rearrange them to suit your needs.¬†With a simple and intuitive interface, the app gets out of your way and lets you get the job done quickly and effortlessly.

It gets even better. ListMania lets you delegate! Once you’ve compiled the list of things you need to get on the weekly grocery trip or for an upcoming party, simply share your list wirelessly with another ListMania user, and let them do the leg work. And if your helper does not have a compatible device, you can always email it to them using built in Mail app with just a few taps.

This is the stupidest app I’ve downloaded yet. Is there even any way to modify an item on a list??!!! One would think that simply tapping on the item would open it for modification. Moreover, you don’t even have this on your FAQ list. Did you even bother to do a pilot test with some users??

    Dear Marina,

Thank you for your very courteous reply to my very discourteous email. I should know by now not to send emails when I am in a technology “huff.” Please accept my apologies.

What is the difference between list mania & list mania plus?

    • marina says:

ListMania is a free ad supported version of the app. It displays a small banner at the bottom of the screen. ListMania+ is priced at $2.99 and does not have any ads.

Other than that, all features are identical.

Whenever I press an item in a list to make it bold and add a red exclamation, ListMania crashes, and the same thing happens when I press an item and hold to remove the boldface and red exclamation mark. How can I stop this crashing?

Is it possible to import a list?

Do not see anywhere on any of the screens where you can access a “settings” app. Please advise

    • marina says:

The “Settings” app is the built in one – the same one where you change the wifi settings, or set up your mail. Scroll to the bottom and you will see settings for installed third party apps.
